Show Manager, Sharon Kennedy-Miles, addresses the multitude at the Official Opening supported by President, Gynith Whatmough and Patron Colin Campbell and wife, Bev. Gynith and Colin pose for extra presentation kiss (missed!) to everyone's enjoyment. The award was for the new cultivar, Colin Campbell, in his honour.
The bloom, Colin Campbell, is seen here and below Greg Lindsay here protests he can't give speeches as he receives a certificate of appreciation to him and Julie
Colin Campbell was bred by Norm and Betty Richardson. Big Tango, an old favourite to compare. Lolly Waters - Miss Liberty x Anna Elizabeth - is an attractive new cultivar Unnamed "monster" bred by John Richardson from Kylie Ritchie x Herm Geller - the eye alone (ignore the flash reflection) was over 3" across!
Thelma Bennell - this cultivar has been much discussed on the Internet recently. Lady Cilento, once so popular, is seldom seen at the shows any more. Lily Torbert, always popular, is disappointing when it loses its markings in winter. Montego Bay amazed with its smattering of spots - surprised me!
