On 20th July 2011, members of Hibiscus Society of Queensland Inc. attended a presentation of Distance Medicine. Our presenter, Anthony showed the many advances made in the field of Distance Medicine, utilizing Live Feed Internet connections from Regional Hospitals. With the use of these Robots, patients can be assessed from their local hospitals, rather than the long journey to Royal Brisbane. A morning tea followed, with a tour of the Children's Hospital School, then the presentation to our new Patron, Professor John Pearn, a plant named in his honour, bred by Fred Westerman.
